Plant expansion

Client: Pharmaceutical

Fitzroy was engaged by a Pharmaceutical client to complete a turnkey expansion of their plant. Our scope included taking our client's basis of design for their expansion and completing a mini-FEED to size the critical equipment, preliminary plant layouts, sizing of the new building, specify HVAC systems, size ancillary equipment to enable our team to tender all the packages before we could provide a turnkey solution to our client. Fitzroy's scope included process, mechanical, pipe stressing, I&E, architectural and civil/structural detailed design along with project and construction management of all the subcontractors and suppliers.

Wellsite Desander Skid

Client: Todd Energy

Fitzroy was engaged by a New Zealand client to complete the engineering design and construction of a desander skid module for a local operator. Fitzroy's scope included process, mechanical, pipe stressing, I&E and structural detailed design. The skid incorporated two client supplied desander vessels integrated into a transportable module for movement between well sites. Construction of the skid included procurement of materials, structural fabrication, mechanical piping and assembly, blast and painting and I&E installation prior to delivery to site.

Manutahi D Fluid Conditioning Skid, produced water lines, gas lift piping.

Client: Westside Corporation

Fitzroy has been working with Westside over the last 12 months completing engineering design, fabrication and site installation associated with restarting wells and optimising production from the Rimu and Kauri fields on the southern Taranaki coast.

To date, Fitzroy has completed gas-lift installation at Kauri E, Kauri A, Rimu A and now Manutahi D. The scope of work includes, mechanical design including pipe stressing, structural/civil design of pipe supports, design verification, procurement, fabrication and site installation.

Northern Oil Refinery

Client: Southern Oil & JJ Richards

Fitzroy were engaged by Southern Oil & JJ Richards to provide a turnkey solution as the EPC contractor for the new oil re-refinery project for Northern Oil Refineries in Gladstone, Queensland.  Fitzroy worked with the owners of this project since the outset, carrying out design of pressure vessels, columns, pipe work, structural/civil, tanks and modules with a view to achieving both cost and schedule efficiencies.  The plant is now fully operational and performing in excess of expectation.

The design was completed by our Auckland and New Plymouth engineering teams. The large process modules were fabricated in New Plymouth, pipe racks were fabricated in Brisbane and tanks in Malaysia. The site construction was completed with an integrated team from Brisbane, New Zealand and Malaysia.

pressure vessel & heat exchanger design

Clients: Multiple including Refining NZ, Todd Energy, Shell, Methanex , Ballance, Z-Energy, Contact Energy, Origin, Viva Energy, Hexion, Aica.

Fitzroy have substantial capabilities in the design and fabrication of pressure vessels and heat exchangers, and have completed many projects for clients in New Zealand and Australia.  We have significant long term contractual arrangements in New Zealand for this work and offer a few examples below.

Recently Refining NZ contracted Fitzroy Engineering to carry out mechanical design and to fabricate a new Waste Heat Boiler (WHB) and Main Reaction Chamber (MRC). The WHB was designed to ASME Sec 1(Power Boiler) code and the MRC was designed to ASME Sec VIII Div. 1 (Pressure vessel code). The entire MRC and one of the tubesheets in the WHB have internal refractory lining.  Both vessels were fabricated and welded together as a single unit at Fitzroy’s workshop and delivered to Refinery NZ.
